>> Futureshorts

Congratulations to o-region who presented a fantastic evening of flicks at the launch of Futureshorts in Cornwall. Eager filmgoers flocked to The Acorn in Penzance to view a spellbinding collection of short films made by directors clearly at the top of their game.

Futureshorts, a worldwide network dedicated to showcasing short films to a wide audience, have regular screenings at a number of destinations, including London, Brussels, Paris and Lisbon. o-region hope to be adding Cornwall to that list and, if the audience reception was anything to go by, local film enthusiasts will be welcoming Futureshorts as a regular event with open arms.

Ranging from the quirky and humorous to the hypnotic and inspirational, the range of shorts had something to satisfy every taste. Lift stood out as an insightful and moving portrait of a modern urban community and Ward 13 was a mesmerising feast of animated pleasure. We'll be looking forward to more of the same.
