YouTube Video On Mobile Phones Makes Top 25 iTunes

Rebecca Black is a 13-year-old who used some money from her parents to make a music video called "Friday", a song about partying that she wrote herself which has caught many users on their mobile phones. Her music video took off on YouTube, where it went from 4,000 to70,000 views in one evening, and now has more than 22 million. Not only that, but her song has reached the top 25 iTunes, going as high as No. 19 at one point.

So it is hard to understand why along with this sudden fame she has received so many incredibly nasty comments and emails, including one charmer which said "I hope you cut yourself and I hope you get an eating disorder so you'll look pretty." Many were critical of her song and voice, which are certainly not the best but not the worst either. It's hard not to reach the conclusion that this large web-mob of haters has decided to display its self-loathing through these unwarranted attacks on a teenage girl.
