I've finally fully appreciated how useful tablets are. The other night, my flatmate saw this video on the uses for the Samsung Galaxy Tab, for example, and called me over to see it. I could really see how useful tablets must be, especially while traveling because they seem to span the perfect range of features between a laptop and a smartphone. My flatmate was noticing how they're just the right size, not too heavy or bulky while, at the same time, they provide a bigger, more useable and enjoyable screen than a smartphone. As I was realizing this, I felt like a tech world version of Goldilocks! Speaking of which, seems that's how Cat Deeley might feel, too!
I think when I go on my next trip, I'd really like to have a tablet with me, for the video and photo uses, as well as staying in touch via Skype, and also listening to my music. I could also keep notes about the trip, etc. It could be like a digital diary…that I could also immediately share with my family and friends back home, or wherever they themselves may be! I think I'd even load some books onto it to take with me. Don't get me wrong, I really love books themselves, but when traveling, being able to read from a tablet would not only spare some weight and save some room in my bag, but I could also bring more than one book to choose from. Of course, this could also mean a guidebook or two for use on the trip. That means only one item in my day-bag to carry around! Yes, a tablet it is juuuuuuuust right!
